What are their needs? and lastly, What are their problems…… so you can solve them!

Getting inside your ideal client’s mind takes a bit of research.

Your ideal client may not share the same things you do, so you have to ask yourself, what kind of things do they enjoy? What websites do they search? What topics do they research? What types of activities do they enjoy? and what topics do they read about? Once you know, you can target their networking groups and blogs and really focus your social media to bring them into your circle of influence.

You have to take your research (to find your “target market”) up a notch in order get what you want.

If you’ve done some basic research on the clients you want to attract, then take it one step further and think of more “related” organizations. What organizations, groups or communities does your target market get involved in? If you connect with those “groups and communities” – you’ll reach a broader group of your target market who are involved in each of those organizations.

Here’s another great tip for researching and attracting your target market, or ideal client.

Find out exactly what your target group is searching on social media. Do a search yourself with various hashtags in each of the social media platforms (not just Twitter, but Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIN all use hashtags now). Get creative and think outside the box. Also see what hashtags your ideal client is using and use that hashtag as a search tool. See who’s liking and sharing those posts. Then follow them, or the groups they use – you’ll find more people who are interested in what you do.

You don’t exactly have to be a complete troll to attract an ideal client, or target a marketplace.

Okay, if you do a little “Spy and Follow” it doesn’t hurt anyone. Again, look to see what Sites, Facebook Pages, Groups and Twitter accounts your target market is following – various magazines, various groups, chamber of commerce, community organizations, companies and so forth. Now look to see who is following THEIR social media platforms. What a huge pool of potential customers, right? Go ahead and follow people you think are in your target market group and see what happens.
