Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of Smooth Sailing Online Support TV. I’m your host and captain, Lyndsay Phillips, for this quick tip on this great Monday.
I just wanted to show you, my new microphone that I finally got. I should have done it months ago. Isn’t it cute? I kind of love it. It looks so spacey. My kids thought it was the coolest thing ever too. It’s just on a little stand. This one is called Blue. It says “Snowball Ice Blue Microphones”. It has so much improved the quality of the sound for my videos and my podcast show and yes, I know I should have done it earlier, but just didn’t get my butt in gear quite frankly. I just wanted to point that out.
I know a lot of people have the ATR2100 and people have been buying it through Amazon for $70. I live up in Canada, for those that don’t know, and it said it was $279 in Canada. I was like, “what the heck”?!?! So I got that one as a runner-up. I know a lot of people are using the Blue Yeti. There’s so many choices out there. You don’t have to go crazy expensive. There’s just a cord, I plug it into my laptop and it’s on and it works.
The thing about this one that I have (you’ll have to check this for other ones as well) is that it’s called a condenser microphone. Now what that means is, is that it really picks up the noise that is in the room. So if you do have a lot of background noise, cats goofing around in the background, or a lawn mower outside, be wary of that and be aware that if you are getting a condenser mic, you just have to be aware if you have those kinds of sounds or if you need a different microphone. Just a quick tip for those that are doing podcasts and videos is to get a microphone of some sort, it does affect the quality to a great degree.
That’s my tip for today. If you’re looking some other tips, I’ve got articles and, of course, I have my Sailing to Success podcast show with great tips along the way. You can check that out at lyndsayphillips.com.
If you do have a podcast show and you want someone to take over the production end and the management for it, I have that service along with many others at ssonlinesupport.com.
Have a profitable and productive week folks, and may the winds always be at your back.
