  • As recently as ten years ago, web technology went from archaic and difficult to intuitive and easy.
  • WordPress has changed the game for web developers and small businesses.
  • The challenge with technology is that it is always changing and you have to stay on the cutting edge to keep up.
  • WordPress powers over a quarter of the websites on the internet but there are still other ways to design and create websites.
  • Your website is your internet real estate, your social media, your platform and you need to control it.
  • Good web designers will not leave you hanging, they will help you learn how to manage your own site.

Websites

  • Keep your site fresh, do a website audit at least once a year.
  • Search engine optimization has become more important, use H2 tags, format your content properly so Google can find it.
  • Your website is part of your brand, it should match your marketing.
  • You have to curate your web presence, clean up your site and media pages when they are no longer relevant.

Productivity

  • Make time for YOU. Do an activity that makes you happy everyday and make that a priority.
  • Separate your life and your work, be able to shut off.
  • Productivity is doing instead of being.
  • Set aside 15 minutes each day just to think and prioritize your goals.
  • Hire someone to help you. Find a professional to complement your weaknesses, automate and streamline your processes. Treat your business like a business.
  • Establish timelines for your work and don’t allow for distractions. Batch similar tasks together, use the Pomodoro Technique to minimize the stopping and starting that wastes so much time.
  • Everyone has a particular time of day that they produce the best work.
