Uploading To YouTube
Hey everyone. Welcome to another episode of Smooth Sailing Online Support TV. I’m your host and captain, Lyndsay Phillips, steering you through the choppy waters of fast paced business growth. Today, I want to talk to you about uploading to YouTube.
Walkthrough for Uploading to YouTube
Uploading to YouTube is not as complicated and hard as some people may think, but I do get a lot of questions, whether it’s unlisted or public and who can see it and who doesn’t see it, what do I include? I thought, “You know what? I’ll do a video and show you.” I’m going to share my screen. I’m in YouTube here. You see when you log into YouTube, you can go to your creator studio which is like your video manager or you can just go straight to upload. Either which way.
Now, notice there are three options.
Public means anyone can see it. Anyone that goes to YouTube, anyone that goes to your channel, absolutely everyone.
Unlisted means that people can watch it if they have the link that you provided them, but if they go to your page or they go to your channel, they don’t see it listed there.
Private is, well just what it says. Only you can see it and only you can see it when you go into your YouTube account. When I’m editing and the video doesn’t have all the good stuff on the front and the back. All the bad stuff is not cut out yet. You want to make sure that it’s unlisted. Once I go through this process and once my team edits it, then it can be public.
As you can see, it’s uploading here. Basically you just put the title in up here, the description, the tags. This is about Social Champ which is a social media marketing scheduling tool. You can put in social media, social champ, and so forth. When it’s all done, it’ll tell you that it’s finished processing. Then you hit done. I’m just going to cancel that for now. I’m going to actually show you some of my videos. Then I want to show you a couple of things here. All right. Oops, that’s not what I wanted to do. Hey, there I am. Actually, you can go to both ways. You can go to video manager and see your list of all the videos that you have or you can watch it in your channel just like I did. Let’s say you click on it. For all intents and purposes, it doesn’t really matter here.
There’s the intro when uploading to YouTube. How you share it. You can see right here there’s a share button. There’s also more, so you can get a transcript, but the transcript with YouTube has all the minutes in it. It looks kind of ugly. Then, share. Share, this is the regular YouTube length that you might want to use for social media or to give someone. You can of course email it to someone. Now, this is the code that you use to place on a web page or a web post in the back end of it, and then it’ll show the whole video embedded right on to your website. That’s how they show up on LyndsayPhillips.com.
I do get mine transcribed, so I’ve got the transcriptions under there. It’s quicker, easier for people to read it than watch. That’s available to you as well. As you can see, it’s pretty quick and easy uploading to YouTube and get going with your video marketing.
